What to do on a rainy day?

It was a long week end as PGMA declared MOnday as a special non working holiday as Erano "Ka Erdy" G. Manalo was buried. Despite the continuous downpour of monroon rains didnt stop the INC supporters to flock the Iglesia Ni Cristo Central Temple along Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City. Over the last few days, I’ve spent more and more time offline. I really like it. I’ve been reading a lot and spending time with my myself and Christian as I can't go to the nearby provinces.

I don’t like being constantly tethered to the internet.. It’s also why I don’t really check on my social networking accounts- Myspace, Facebook, Friendster, Plurk, Multiply, etc anymore. I barely log in once every few weeks.

I’ve been reading The Time Traveller's Wife by Audrey Neffinegger. I’m just reading it again. After I watched the movie version last Friday. In between substituting, I’ve been getting all of the paperwork ready for tomorrow as I brought some at home.

It was nice having about three days off. I have many backlogs on my blog entries. I didn’t have to write anything either... It was very relaxing as I watch the rain drops on the glass window.

Happy Birthday, Mama Mary

The Blessed Virgin Mary, sometimes shortened to the Blessed Virgin or the Virgin Mary, is a traditional title used by most Christians and most specifically used by liturgical Christians such as Roman Catholics, Anglicans, Lutherans, Eastern Orthodox and Eastern Catholics, and some others to describe Mary, the mother of Jesus Christ.

Since the first century, devotion to the Virgin Mary has been a major element of the spiritual life of a vast number of Christians, primarily in Catholicism. From the Council of Ephesus in 431 to Vatican II and Pope John Paul II's encyclical Redemptoris Mater, the Virgin Mary has come to be seen not only as the Mother of God but also as the Mother of the Church, a Mediatrix who intercedes to Jesus Christ and even a proposed Co-Redemptrix.

The key role of the Virgin Mary in the beliefs of many Christians, her veneration, and the growth of Mariology have not only come about by the Marian writings of the saints or official statements but have often been driven from the ground up, from the masses of believers, and at times via reported Marian apparitions, miracles and healings.

As we all know, the late Pope John Paul II is a Marian devotee and I too is a Marian devotee.

The Roman Catholic faith is rejoicing and observing the natal day of Our Blessed Virgin Mary.

Happy, happy birthday, Mama Mary!!!
